Quality work within RNB RETAIL AND BRANDS

RNB RETAIL AND BRANDS’ vision is to create the ultimate shopping experience and offer world-class service. Customers should feel secure with the products that are sold, and the products should meet their quality expectations. Quality work in the proprietary product line focuses on imposing demands on suppliers and goods, and monitoring compliance with these demands. The demands may vary from child safety requirements and material durability to chemical requirements.

Tests of quality and safety

Continuous quality, safety and chemicals tests are conducted on proprietary production goods in the quality department’s laboratory at the head office and by independent laboratories in our production countries. Tests are conducted both in the development of new products and as random tests of goods delivered by suppliers. If we discover a quality problem in goods for sale in our stores, further testing is often conducted to analyze the problem and we then feed this back to production. For quality problems related to products in stores, a judgment is always made to determine if the product should be recalled. The product must be recalled as soon as possible if the slightest risk to users is discovered. We then make every effort to trace the problem to its source.

Production control

Product quality work within RNB RETAIL AND BRANDS includes communications with suppliers and imposing the most appropriate demands in accordance with related quality manuals. Since RNB RETAIL AND BRANDS does not own any production units, this work is critical in efforts to achieve optimal programs of cooperation with the suppliers manufacturing our products. We also use the services of several Quality Controllers (QCs), who conduct onsite inspections to ensure that our products maintain the standards we strive to achieve. In Turkey and China, this work is managed through our proprietary and agent-contracted production offices.

Working at the leading edge

To constantly remain at the leading edge in our quality work and to keep abreast of new developments, RNB RETAIL AND BRANDS and its subsidiaries are members of various networks such as the Association of Textile Importers, the Swerea IVF Chemicals Group and SIS standardization groups such as “Color, wash and water” and “Safety in children’s clothing.” These networks provide information and assistance in efforts to develop Swedish and European standards. Internally, we arrange training programs to provide our employees with the information they need, in addition to focusing intently on providing important information to suppliers of proprietary products.
